ECO's Environmental Friendly Cleaning Policy

Trust Eco Interior Maintenance's environmentally friendly cleaning policy.

When it comes to an environmentally friendly cleaning policy we got you covered from the beginning. Not everyone spends the time or money to make sure your place of business or home is protected from harmful products. ECO makes your choice easy when you have decided to clean using green products.

ECO stays informed:
  • OSHA safety regulations
  • USGBC LEED cleaning recommendations
  • Carpet & Rug Institute - CRI’s SOA approved cleaning solutions
  • EPA's Safer Choice Accepted cleaning solution list (formerly “Design for the Environment or DfE") and
  • Green Seals product specifications.

By being informed, we do not compromise the quality of our services, particularly in terms of not polluting the environment or harming building occupants. We assure you the most environmentally friendly cleaning equipment and solutions are being used to clean.

Low Environmental Impact Policies or (LEIP’s) are designed to reduce the number of toxins used in cleaning that negatively affect human health and the indoor/outdoor environment. They also specify the use of products and equipment that have been approved by testing organizations.

Limitations of Green Cleaning Products

Environmentally Friendly cleaning policies are important but sometimes unknown spills occur that may require more aggressive products to remove. Depending on the carpets condition, 95% of all your carpet cleaning can be achieved using a certified or an approved green product. Although most spots can be removed by using “greener” products, some stains are difficult to remove or permanent. Sometimes spots and stains require the use of specialty products that have odors. i.e. (solvents to remove tar or reducing agents that remove coffee stains). Most specialty products for removing stains have low hazard ratings on the SDS's or Safety Data Sheets. Our trained and IICRC-Certified professional technicians are aware of your concerns. Please feel free to ask any of our technicians for a copy of the Safety Data Sheet on any of our products.

If your preference is for ECO Interior Maintenance to use only green products, we will comply with your request. But do understand that our policy is to “clean using green but keep spots from being seen.”

Note: ECO Interior Maintenance will design a Low Environmental Impact Policy for clients who sign up in 2010-2012. Along with working with our in-house LEED Accredited Professional, this policy will earn you points towards a LEED certification.
